Small, Medium Enterprises (SMEs) don’t have the resources of big businesses although they have to deal with many of the same staff issues; keeping their best people, sorting out any staff problems, making sure training and development stays ahead of their needs, and those are just examples.

If a business needs advice and support with these things but can’t justify having someone deal with them full-time, the best thing they can do is to find a professional they can call in when they need to. Someone they can grow to see as a trusted friend.

Sorting out employment policy documents and keeping everything in line with new laws; helping to keep good people motivated; handling problem employees or dealing with staff sickness absence; redundancies; resolving disputes and conflict management through disciplinary and grievance procedures and effective mediation; managing relationships with recruitment agencies, training providers and trade unions. There are a lot of things to cover in HR, no matter what the size of the business, and I can help with all of them.

I’ve been in HR for over 20 years and am still very passionate about it. I’ve worked in both private and public sectors and for organisations large and small. I get to know the business inside out so I can work alongside them. It’s how I make sure the HR service they get is absolutely right for their business.
